Fall Semester 2019

The final DoubleSTARS enrollment forms will be available here by the end of August, 2019. You may begin your IntroSTARSTM course at any time however. Please come back here to gather the DoubleSTARSTM   enrollment forms when they are ready.

FALL 2019 SEMINAR CALENDAR 

The Week 1 Online class will be at 8:00 PM, September 18, 2019. YOu will receive an invitation to it after passing the IntroSTARS quiz.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

San Diego area high school students are encouraged to enroll in the seminar. High school students from other localities and Junior High School students may also participate with BRIEF’s approval. Send an email to info@boyce-astro.org to inquire.

Unless you are awarded a Scholarhip, your enrollment will require payment of the $99 fee no later than the 2nd weekly class. If you are under 18 years of age, you will need to have a signed Parental Approval also before the 2nd Weekly Class.  Here are your necessary forms:

  • Parental Approval – if you are under under 18 years of age – DOWNLOAD HERE, complete and email to info@boyce-astro.org.
  • Scholarship – Scholarships are available to reduce the cost of the seminar to $29.  Scholarship applications are due BEFORE THE 1ST Weekly Class. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please DOWNLOAD HERE, complete and email to info@boyce-astro.org.
  • College Credit Enrollment – San Diego area high school students may be eligible for college credit from Miramar College for taking the seminar. First, a high school student must be admitted to the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD). You may apply for admission here. Once you are admitted, please follow the course enrollment information for Miramar College below.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS 

The following Community Colleges have approved DoubleSTARSTM programs. College students participate in the Boyce-Astro online classes and other activities and are guided by their professor in completing their project. There are no fees for students in these programs other than normal college tuition.

  • Miramar College – the seminar is available for credit (ASTR 290). You need to sign the Application for Independent Study  and return it to Dr. Calanog. DOWNLOAD HERE
  • Mesa College – the seminar may be approved as part of an honors contract. Contact your Honors Advisor or Science Instructor.
  • Grossmont College – the seminar may be approved as part of an honors contract. Contact your Honors Advisor or Science Instructor.

EVERYONE ELSE – YOU ARE WELCOME TOO

Whether you are attending a school now or not, we encourage you to participate in the seminar. Unless admitted into one of the above community college programs, enrollment will require payment of the $99 fee no later than the 2nd weekly class.
