Double Stars
(February Start, 8 Sessions)

Kicking off in February, our Double Stars course spans eight sessions and guides you through a real research project from beginning to publishable results. This track will lead you to a published scientific paper.

Exoplorer I EW
(February Start, 6 Sessions)

Our Explorer I EW course runs for six sessions and focuses on observing and analyzing exoplanet transits and submission of your own observations to NASA’s Exoplanet Watch program for JWST, thus making a real contribution to ongoing research.

Introduction to Python for Astronomy
(March Start, 5 Sessions)

In March, we’ll begin our five-session course on Python for Astronomy, where you’ll learn how to query astronomical databases for your research.  Then learn how to analyze and make  visualizations like HR diagrams – science poster ready results. Spectroscopy follows later in the spring on this data science track.

Pre-requisite: IntroSTARS
All of these courses require completing our free self-paced IntroSTARS course as a
foundation. It’s available anytime on our website to get you up to speed on the basics of astrophysics before diving in. It takes 5 to 10 hours. Do it before February if you can.
