1. Teaching & Research Assistant Fellowships
BRIEF relies on talented student Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants who support instruction, mentor younger learners, assist with project design, guide telescope operations, and help maintain the educational experience that makes BRIEF unique.
Your donation to this fund provides stipends for these students – modeled after undergraduate academic fellowships – allowing them to continue contributing without financial barriers. A gift here strengthens our instructional capacity and helps train the next generation of science educators and research mentors.
2. Financial Assistance for Underserved Students
Many highly motivated students come from communities where advanced STEM opportunities are limited or entirely unavailable. This fund provides reduced-cost or zero-cost access to BRIEF courses and research programs for students who demonstrate financial need.
Your contribution ensures that no capable student is turned away because of cost. Gifts to this fund expand equity and open the door to astronomy, data science, and real scientific publication for students who otherwise would never have the opportunity.
3. General Support & Observatory Sustainability
General donations help sustain the infrastructure that powers all BRIEF programs—telescope operations, data systems, software, online classrooms, and course development. This fund supports year-round maintenance of our observatories and enables us to keep delivering high-quality, research-driven astronomy experiences.
A gift to general support provides BRIEF with flexibility to respond to emerging needs, develop new educational offerings, and maintain reliable scientific operations.
